2008 Tournament of Champions Recap
Following a week of tremendous high school basketball, the 2008
Tournament of Champions All Tournament Team was announced.
Westchester Senior Guard, Dominique O’ Connor, was named MVP after
helping lead his Comets to Back-To-Back TOC Championships. For the
Tournament, O’Connor averaged 18.8 points per game while significantly
increasing his presence on the national recruiting scene. Teammates,
Kareem Jamar (Jr.) and Denzel Douglas (Jr) were also named All
Tournament.
TOC Runner-Up Leuzinger, had two all Tournament selections, Seniors,
Jerry Evans and Julian Wheeler. The 6’7 Evans averaged 18.5 points in
the Olympians four games. Showcasing an array of skills, he solidified
himself as one of the better unsigned Senior wings on the west coast.
Peninsula Sophomore Guard Reese Morgan was named All-Tournament after
leading the TOC in scoring, with 26.8 ppg. Also joining him on the
squad were Rancho Verde Senior, Michael Snaer, and Garces Senior,
Stephon Carter. The pair of Shooting Guards put on a quite a display
throughout the Tournament of Champions. The Florida State bound Snaer
averaged 23.6 ppg while the unsigned 6’3 Carter dropped in 23.5 per
game.
